Adoption Past & Present
An interdisciplinary course which analyzes the origins and evolution of adoption. At the centre of the course will be considerations of young people's lives in institutional care, foster care, and domestic and international
adoption. The course will pay close attention to child welfare policy and how understandings of race, class, gender, sexuality, poverty, and citizenship affect
adoption practices and perceptions of family.
